José Antonio Ocampo is Professor in the School of International and Public Affairs and Member of the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University. Formerly, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and Minister of Finance, Minister of Agriculture, and Director of the National Planning Department in Colombia. He was also member of the Advisory Committee of the Latin American Development Forum series, and author of two books in the series.
