Jose Daniel Reyes is a Senior Economist at the Macroeconomics, Trade, and Investment Global Practice of The World Bank Group. His areas of expertise are international trade, foreign direct investment, and the impact of globalization. His recent policy work focuses on firm-level responses to regulatory reforms aimed at improving the investment climate. Daniel also works in the design of structural reforms that increase the competitiveness of the private sector in developing countries. He is currently the Country Economist for Cabo Verde. He has experience leading policy dialogue in Latin-America, Africa, and Asia. Prior to joining The World Bank Group, he worked for the Inter-American Development Bank and for the Colombian government conducting macro monitoring in Latin-American countries. Daniel holds a PhD in Economics from Georgetown University.
