Mr. Irigoyen is Senior Director for the Transport and Information and Communications Technologies Global Practice (T&I GP) of the World Bank. Since its establishment on July 1, 2014, the Global Practice is responsible for all transport and ICT activities, which include an active portfolio of about US$42 billion in lending commitments and 224 projects under supervision and similar number of knowledge activities in more than 80 countries. Prior to his role as Sr. Director, Mr. Irigoyen was the Director for Transport within the T&I Global Practice.
Mr. Irigoyen, an Argentine national, joined the bank in 1990 and has held several leadership positions as Director for Transport, Water and ICT Department in the Sustainable Development Network (2010-2014), as the Senior Manager for the Sustainable Development Department of the Africa Region (2008 – 2010), and as the Sector Manager for Transport for the Latin America and the Caribbean Region (2001 – 2008).
