Juan Segnana is a first-year PhD candidate in Economics with research interests at the crossroads of developmental, migration, and political economy. His work utilizes administrative, survey, and geo-spatial data to explore the obstacles to refugee integration in host economies (Bangladesh and Jordan). He investigates how decentralized market interactions lead to welfare imrpovements under confinement of refugees, drawing from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. He also investigates how migration can shape the long-term political landscape in receiving countries.
