Juha Seppala is a Carbon Finance Specialist in the World Bank’s Climate and Carbon Finance Unit. He works as Deal Manager for a number of carbon finance operations including landfill gas capture, transport, livestock and agriculture under Ci-Dev, CPF and UCF carbon funds. Recently, he became portfolio coordinator for the Carbon Partnership Facility. His interests are in biogas, clean tech and biodiversity.
Before joining the then Carbon Finance Unit in 2011, Juha was an Environment and Carbon Finance Specialist in the East Asia Pacific Region in the Jakarta, Indonesia, Country Office of the World Bank. There he was Task Team Leader for two terrestrial biodiversity projects funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and a team member of the Indonesia Climate Change Development Policy Loan I and II task teams.
Before joining the Bank, Juha was program manager of the Finnish government carbon procurement program (Finnder) for four years. In the years prior to that, he worked in environmental consulting. His background is in biodiversity and environmental science, and he holds an M.Sc. in Ecology from the University of Turku, Finland.
