Julia Constanze Braunmiller is a Senior Private Sector Development Specialist with the World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law project. Julia leads teams to produce regulatory indicators on women’s mobility, property rights, and entrepreneurship across 190 countries. Her expertise also includes financial inclusion, the rights of women with disabilities, and the inclusion of sexual and gender minorities. Julia has over 15 years of experience devising strategies and conducting trainings with governments and civil society organizations to promote women’s economic empowerment based on rigorous data analysis. Previously, she taught international human rights law at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and directed legal reform programs on combating human trafficking and pioneering clinical legal education throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
