Julia Schmidt is a Policy Analyst at the Statistics and Data Directorate of the OECD working on measuring the digital economy. At PARIS21, Julia led the data analytics team working on smarter financing for development data as part of the Clearinghouse project and was responsible for the Statistical Capacity Monitor – a database on statistical capacity in low- and middle-income countries. She represented PARIS21 in the UN Global Working Group on Big Data and contributed to the UNECE Steering Group on Statistics for SDGs. Prior to joining PARIS21, Julia worked as a project manager at the Bertelsmann Foundation and as a research fellow at the Centre Nationale de Recherche Scientifique in France. Julia holds a master's degree in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po, Paris and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Economics from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich.
