Juliana Chen-Peraza

Juliana Chen-Peraza is an Economist in the Education Global Practice. She joined the World Bank in 2019 as a Young Professional for the LAC Education unit. While there, she has led the supervision of two (TF-funded) IPF projects in Sint Maarten and co-led/contributed to two human capital reviews (for Central America and Colombia), as well as other regional reports on education, including one for PISA 2022 results. She also supported the preparation of projects in Costa Rica and Paraguay and worked on developing innovative analytical products in early childhood development for Mexico and Paraguay, supporting COVID-19 learning loss simulations, and implementing learning assessments in Mexico and Sint Maarten. Prior to the WB, Juliana held research roles at the RAND Corporation and the Inter-American Development Bank, focusing on labor markets, education, and health interventions (including randomized control trials) aimed at improving maternal and child wellbeing worldwide. She holds a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School, a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Economics from the University of Chicago.
