Julie Ruel-Bergeron is a nutrition specialist in the Human Development Network's Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) unit. While earning her MPH, she began working in nutrition in 2006 at the State of Maryland’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program, after which she supported and coordinated the data collection of the nutrition component of Harvest Plus’ orange sweet potato impact evaluation in Mozambique. In 2009, she joined the World Bank as a short term consultant, working in nutrition, health, and social protection in Latin America, Africa, and the HNP unit. Julie is currently working to support and coordinate the design and implementation of the SecureNutrition Knowledge Platform, which aims to foster multisectoral collaboration both within and outside the Bank, while generating the platform needed to freely exchange knowledge on the linkages between food security, agriculture, and nutrition.
