Justine Sylvester is a Land Tenure Specialist in the Energy and Extractives Global Unit at The World Bank. Justine focuses on social sustainability and land governance dimensions of mining (critical minerals and Artisanal & Small-Scale Mining) and a just energy transition. Justine has experience working on a range of related issues, including stakeholder engagement, land rights and tenure security, and promoting civic space. Before joining The World Bank, Justine was based in Southeast Asia for several years, where she was an Advisor in the Land & Livelihoods Program of a Lao civil society organization, and also worked for the Australian Federal Government.
