Kamakshi Mubarak is a Senior Social Development Specialist at the World Bank. Her work focuses on social risk management, stakeholder engagement, and women’s empowerment to achieve sustainable development. She has held positions in various regions, including South Asia, West Africa, East Asia and Pacific, and Europe. Prior to joining the Bank, she worked for the Government of Sri Lanka, managing social safeguards and resettlement in a post-war urban development program. She has also worked on corporate social responsibility initiatives within the private sector in Sri Lanka. Kamakshi, a Sri Lankan national, holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Oxford, UK, and a bachelor's degree (Honors) in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
