Kandarp Patel currently works as Director in National Academy of Audit and Accounts- a premier capacity building institution under Government of India. Before this, he was a Director in the Finance Commission of India where he worked closely with the Commission in the areas of public finance and fiscal federalism. He produced high quality research and advised the Commission on tax revenue sharing between national and sub-national governments, resource mobilization and public financial management (PFM) reforms. Prior to that, he also worked in the auditing and accounting of sub-national governments in India.
Kandarp belongs to the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS), a premier civil service in India, under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. He has strong interests in PFM Systems and their reforms, rule-based fiscal policies and institutions, public auditing and accounting.
