Karina Mross is a researcher in the programme ‘Political Order, Values and Peace’ at the German Development Institute (DIE) in Bonn, Germany. In her research, she focuses on international support to peace and democratization processes in post-war contexts and is particularly interested in the role of democracy support in building peace after civil war. She has conducted field research on these topics in Burundi, Liberia, Nepal and Timor-Leste. Next to qualitative methods, she uses Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). Karina is currently doing her PhD at the University of St. Gallen with Prof. Tina Freyburg. She completed her MA in ‘International Relations and Development Policy’ at the University of Duisburg-Essen and obtained her BA in ‘European Studies’ at the University of Maastricht.
