Mr. Karl Galing is a Water and Sanitation Specialist of the Global Water Practice of the World Bank. He previously served as the Country Coordinator for WSP Philippines. Karl manages the Bank’s technical assistance on urban and rural water and sanitation projects with the government clients in coordination with key donor agencies. For the last 10 years Karl has actively contributed to the East Asia and the Pacific regional program in the design, planning, implementation and supervision of various development and poverty alleviation projects in the water and sanitation sector. He is part of the Water Practice Team that is currently implementing PNG’s Water Supply and Sanitation Development Project. He is also involved in the development and exchange of knowledge and learning products of the World Bank’s Global Solutions Group and thematic Challenge Areas of the broader Water Practice. Karl has over 15 years of practical experience in water resources management and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and holds a Masters degree in Environmental Management and a Bachelors degree in Geology from the University of the Philippines. Prior to working with the World Bank, Karl used to be the Water, Sanitation and Solid Waste Management Specialist for the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GIZ) and Principal Hydrogeologist for Tonkin and Taylor, Limited.
