Kate Mandeville is a Senior Health Specialist based in the World Bank office in Beijing. She is a board-certified public health physician and has worked as a clinician, researcher, and public health practitioner. Since joining the World Bank, she has worked on diverse health system issues in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and East Asia. Recently, she has been leading work to support governments to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases, such as implementing taxes on sugary drinks. She has a BSc and MD from Imperial College London and a MSc and PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
