Katelijn van den Berg is a Senior Environmental Specialist in the South-East Asia and the Pacific region as part of the Environment, Natural Resource and Blue Economy Global Practice at the World Bank. Katelijn has been working as a Team Leader and environment sector specialist in pollution and solid waste management lending and analytical work. She brings 20 years of experience in IBRD and IDA countries in solid waste and plastic management and policies, hazardous waste, air quality management and greenhouse gas emission reductions, industrial pollution management, Persistent Organic Pollutants and remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites, ozone depletion substances phase-out and mining rehabilitation.
She brings experience from the South-East Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia as well as the Middle East and North Africa regions and holds a degree in Environmental Economics as well as European Environmental Management, both from the Free University of Amsterdam.
