Katherine Stapleton is an economist in the World Bank's Macroeconomics, Trade & Investment Global Practice and in the Development Economics Trade and Investment Research Group. She joined the Bank in 2020 as part of the Young Professionals Program and is currently based in the China office. Her work focuses on trade, emerging technologies, labor markets, and climate policy. She is particularly interested in how new technologies and climate policy affect trade, global supply chains, and paths to development. Katherine holds a master's and doctorate in economics from Oxford University.
