Ms. Kathy Lai is Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Singapore, overseeing Global Markets and Capability Programmes and Policies.
Ms. Lai served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of IE Singapore from 1 November 2016 to 31 December 2017, and Acting CEO from 1 January to 31 March 2018. She led the Capability Development Group, Ecosystem Development Group, Environment and Infrastructure Solutions Group, Lifestyle Business Group, Technology Business Group, and Transport and Logistics Group.
Ms. Lai held the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the National Arts Council (NAC) from 1 November 2013 to 31 October 2016. She spearheaded the development of the arts in Singapore by cultivating excellence among Singapore’s arts community, developing the supporting ecosystem and nurturing the growing audience in Singapore.
Ms. Lai was previously IE Singapore’s Assistant Chief Executive Officer from 1 July 2007 to 31 October 2013, where she oversaw trade promotion, trade services, and policy development, customer services, as well as international markets including Americas and Europe.
Ms. Lai sits on NUS’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM) Governing Board. She was awarded the Overseas Merit Scholarship and has a Master in Arts from the University Oxford. In 2008, she received the National Day Public Administration Medal (Silver) Award.
