Katy Bergstrom is an Economist in the Poverty and Inequality team of the World Bank’s Development Research Group. Her research interests lie at the intersection of Public and Development economics. Specifically, she is interested in optimal taxation and redistribution in developing countries, the determinants of income inequality, and investment differentials across children. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and a PhD in Economics from Stanford University. Prior to starting her PhD, she worked as an Economic Analyst for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (2012-2013).
