Kazusa Yoshimura is a data scientist with the Poverty and Equity Global Practice at the World Bank. His primary focus is producing poverty statistics using machine learning algorithms, especially in countries where it is challenging to conduct face-to-face household surveys due to conflicts and natural disasters. Most recently, he has been supporting a phone survey in Somalia to capture the impact of a massive drought on the displaced population, including IDPs, refugees and returnees.
