Klaus Koch-Saldarriaga is a Senior Private Sector Development Specialist in the Business Enabling Environment unit. Currently he oversees the Business Ready dialogue with Stakeholders and governments, Communications and Experts Engagement teams and supervises the International Trade and Labor topic teams. He also coordinated the public consultation of the B-Ready Concept Note and led the B-Ready branding exercise. Previously he worked for the Doing Business project and for the Citizen Engagement in Rulemaking project in the Global Indicators Group. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, he was a diplomat-counsellor at the Embassy of Colombia to the United States, where he worked on the approval of the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement and the bilateral Action Plan on Labor Rights. He also worked at the Business Association of Colombia (ANDI), and in the law firms Heuking Kühn in Germany and DG&A in Colombia. Klaus holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from UC Berkeley, attended Harvard University negotiation program and holds a law degree from Javeriana University in Colombia (graduated with honors). He speaks Spanish and German.
