Knut works as Procurement Hub Coordinator for South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, and Namibia in the Governance Global Practice in the Africa East/South Region. He leads a team of procurement professionals in charge of supervising the procurement of contracts in projects funded by the World Bank across different sectors. In addition, Knut provides advice on procurement reform, including E-Procurement, and capacity development to strengthen public procurement systems in client countries.
Prior to his current position, Knut worked in different units at the World Bank including the Europe & Central Asia Regional Procurement Management office and the Bank’s Procurement Policy and Services Group where he led the Bank's E-Procurement agenda and the design and implementation of innovative procurement policies and guidance.
Before joining the World Bank in 2003, Knut had worked as Director Public Sector and Business Development Manager at Siemens Business Services and Siemens-Nixdorf respectively where he managed, among others, the preparation of proposals for World Bank funded contracts. Knut holds a Master of Business Administration from the Academy of Business Administration & Public Management Nuremberg, Germany.
