Extended Term Consultant in the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice, focusing on the jobs analytical agenda and related operational projects. He has been working in Ethiopia for the past six years in different roles for government and development partners, focusing on job creation and industrialization initiatives. He previously worked as an ODI Fellow at the Ethiopian Investment Commission, where he coordinated several donor projects and sector strategies. He has also been a consultant for the Jobs Creation Commission and a FCDO-funded market systems program. Prior to his work for the Ethiopian Government, he managed a randomized controlled trial on labor market interventions in Addis Ababa for the University of Oxford and the Ethiopian Development Research Institute. Koen holds a master’s in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford and a bachelor’s in Economics and Political Science from University College Roosevelt.
