Laila El-Zeini is Professor of Statistics and Demography at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science of Cairo University and Adjunct Research Scientist at the Social Research Center of the American University in Cairo. Her primary area of research is fertility and family planning, with a focus on the measurement of unwanted fertility and unmet needs for family planning. She has extensive experience in research and training connected to reproductive rights, child protection, gender auditing and gender mainstreaming, and statistical design and analysis of social surveys.
