Larissa Duma is an Urban Ecology and Resilience Specialist consultant with the World Bank’s Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Global Practice and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery. She works primarily in the Africa Region. She has more than 10 years of interdisciplinary experience in environmental management, urban development and service delivery, solid waste management, and sanitation. Within the Bank, she has worked on a range of operations and trust fund projects by providing technical assistance across the urban space. She consults on urban resilience, forestry, environment, disaster risk reduction, service delivery, including solid waste management and sanitation, nature-based solutions, and general urban development. She holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Resource Management from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences, with minors in Environmental Education and Dialogue and Communications, from Simon Fraser University.
