Laura Altinger has just joined the Malaysia Country Office, a newly established global knowledge and research hub in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to her current posting, she worked in the Vietnam Country Office for almost four years, where she managed various technical assistance and capacity building programs and projects on sustainable development. She led the analysis for the 2015 Vietnam Public Expenditure Review on Quang Nam province. Prior to joining the World Bank, Laura worked as an Advisor at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, responsible for a number of publications, and high-level inter-governmental initiatives involving Heads of States and very senior UN officials. On secondment from the UN, she also worked for one year at the World Economic Forum (Davos) on various data and benchmarking initiatives. Laura holds a PhD in Economics from London Business School, a Masters in Economics and Econometrics from Bristol University and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Cambridge.
