Laura Bulbena Janer is a Nature-based Solutions Specialist with the Cities4Forests team at the World Resources Institute where she focuses on incorporating nature-based solutions (NBS) into infrastructure investment projects in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
She works with financial institutions, utilities, donors, and national and subnational governments to develop strategies that support increased investment in NBS. She has recently supported a water utility in LAC to strengthen its NBS strategy, specifically related to community engagement and the business case for NBS projects, and is currently working on the strategy to develop a NBS project focused on building climate resilience of local communities and the hydropower sector.
Laura holds a M.A. from John Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a B.A. in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
