Laura Overmeyer is Deputy Head of the Equal Opportunities and Social Development in Egypt project, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German government and in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Social Solidarity. She studied development studies, sociology, and Islamic studies in Hamburg, Birzeit, Tehran and London, and has been working for many years in and on the West Asia and North Africa region.
