Laurent is a focal point for the Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation (FCI) portfolio in the World Bank Group's office in Dakar, covering Senegal, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, The Gambia, and Mauritania. He has spent the last eleven years providing advice to governments on how to improve their country's competitiveness, and to spur entrepreneurship, trade and investment. He has worked in over thirty countries globally, although his main region of focus has been Sub-Saharan Africa, where he has been based for the past 7 years between Nairobi and now Dakar. Laurent’s interests include digital technologies and their role as a driver of economic development, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as creative industries as a driver of growth and employment.
