Laurent Durix is a senior energy consultant with over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, including economic development at the World Bank. At the World Bank, he has been supporting activities related to the power sector, off-grid solar electrification and clean cooking in Asia and Africa. In recent years, he has been focusing on operational work, assisting task teams in preparation and operational implementation of projects. He has been collaborating closely with client country counterparts in ministries and project implementation units (PIU), as well as development partners and local stakeholders, most recently in Niger, Burundi and Chad. He has a passion for work enabling households’ access to the quality of life-enhancing services brought by modern energy, be it cleaner cooking solutions, lighting and other uses of electricity at home or at public places such as health centers and schools.
Prior to the World Bank, Laurent Durix worked in business development in an electricity utility and in consulting for international private sector firms, spanning all components of the power sector and energy policies. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics, from La Sorbonne University, Paris - France.
