Lead Financial Sector Specialist, Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Global Practice

Laurent Gonnet is a Lead Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank, which he joined in 2007 following an early career as both an on-site and off-site supervisor at the Central Bank of France.

At the World Bank, he leads policy dialogue with monetary and financial authorities across multiple countries and supports the design and implementation of key financial sector reforms. His work spans a broad range of areas including financial stability, financial intermediation, real estate finance, and financial sector assessments (FSAPs). He has also led technical assistance programs in stress testing, crisis preparedness, and banking supervision.

Laurent holds degrees from the University of Montpellier in Economic Sciences, Political Science, and Business Administration.
