Leandro Carvalho is an economist at the University of Southern California’s Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR) and an Assistant (Research) Professor at USC’s Economics Department. His areas of research are in behavioral economics, development economics, and social genomics. He studies causes and consequences of poverty and causal determinants of decision-making. His research has been published in the American Economic Review, The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, The Review of Economics and Statistics, Demography, and others. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
