Dr. Leeanne Alonso is a consultant for the IFC, specializing in biodiversity and project compliance with IFC’s Performance Standard 6. She is also an Associate Conservation Scientist with the Global Wildlife Conservation (GWC) and founder of the Women in Nature Network (WiNN). Leeanne’s expertise is in conservation biology, myrmecology (ants!), and biodiversity assessment. Leeanne was Director of the Rapid Assessment Program (RAP) at Conservation International from 1998-2011, where she led over 45 field expeditions to remote corners of the world to document species and their habitats and guide conservation action. Leeanne founded WiNN in 2013 to connect, empower and support women working in nature conservation.
