Leila Hanafi is a senior legal specialist with the Global Financing Facility for Women and Girls. She brings a wealth of experience from recent roles, including serving as a legal adviser to INT’s vice president and the Fragility, Conflict, and Violence group’s operations support unit, focusing particularly on forced displacement issues. Her expertise lies at the intersection of law, women's issues, and policy development. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct professor of international and comparative law at the George Washington University Law School. She has served in legal advisory roles with international NGOs, with the UN, including UN ESCWA’s Centre of Women and Law and Commissioner in the Office of the Prime Minister of Morocco. She holds a doctorate in law from the UK and completed her legal studies in Morocco and in George Washington University Law School and Georgetown University.
