Lena Tonzer is an assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a member of the Department of Financial Markets at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH). Her research focuses on banking and sovereign debt crises, integration of financial markets, and banking regulation. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tübingen and her PhD from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. From 2017 to 2021, she taught at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
