Lilly Smines is the Programme Manager for the Migration Health Division of IOM in Mozambique and has been working with IOM Mozambique for nearly six years. She holds a Master of Science degree in Global Health, specializing in health system strengthening, from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Politics from the University of Bergen in Norway. Prior to working for IOM, Smines has experience from Policy and Advocacy with Care International where she worked with Mozambican civil society on issues related to climate adaptation and sustainable agriculture. While working with Save the Children in Norway, she gained expertise on advocacy for the rights of youth and asylum seekers. Prior to Ms. Smines’ work in Sub-Saharan Africa, she worked in Ecuador where her worked focused on research related to political economy under a social anthropology approach.
