Lorena Chiran is an Education Analyst in the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region of the World Bank and is closely involved with the education programs in Bulgaria, Uzbekistan and Romania. Her most recent projects include the Romania Digital Skills for Romanian Citizens, the Bulgaria Production and Use of Data for Learning, the Uzbekistan Student Financing Reform and Transforming Public Education programs. Lorena also leads the unit’s communications and knowledge-sharing efforts. She specializes in Early Childhood Development, foundational skills and digital transformation. Lorena has earned a master's degree in education policy from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked for a London-based non-governmental organization focusing on tackling the learning crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and the European Trade Union Committee for Education in Brussels.
