Luan Zhao is a Senior Economist in the MTI Global Practice for the Middle East and North Africa region at the World Bank. Previously, he was the Senior Economist for China. Since joining the Bank in 2010, Luan has worked on various analytical, advisory, and lending operations, focusing on growth analysis, fiscal reform, debt management, and financial sector diagnostics across China, Korea, Mongolia, Syria, and the West Bank and Gaza. He has authored several peer-reviewed research articles and policy reports. Luan holds a PhD in Economics from Tsinghua University, China.
