Senior Trade Facilitation Specialist

I am senior trade facilitation advisor with the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice of the World Bank. I specialise in assisting governments implement their obligations under the WTO's Trade Facilitation Agreement focusing in particular on transparency of trade information.

Previously, as an independent Consultant, I worked on assignments for the World Bank or on World Bank or IFC funded projects mostly in ICT for Customs reform and modernization and, increasingly, dealing with trade information and Single Window. I have worked with the governments of Laos, Lesotho, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Cambodia on the development of their trade portals and National Single Window. I assisted the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Laos on their NTM reform programme.

For over 10 years I was senior Director with line management and business development responsibility for a commercial division of a major Public Finance Management consultancy offering IT solutions for the Public Sector.

I have over 20 years experience of institutional development work and capacity building for Governments in emerging and transitional economies with particular emphasis on revenue enhancement and modernization of Tax and Customs administration.
