Lucas Belenky is a Climate Change Consultant with the World Bank’s Carbon Markets and Innovation team. He is supporting countries to implement Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and leverage emerging climate markets. Lucas also works under the World Bank’s Networked Carbon Markets initiative to support the growth and interconnection of bottom-up climate markets. Previously, he was a consultant for the Carbon Initiative for Development, a World Bank trust fund, focusing on emission reduction activities in sub-Saharan Africa. Before returning to the US, Lucas lived in Nairobi, Kenya, for 11 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and a Master’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
