Lucy Bassett is a Professor of Practice and co-Director of the Humanitarian Collaborative, an applied research initiative, at the University of Virginia’s Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. She brings 10 years of experience working on education and social protection at the World Bank, and was part of the Early Learning Partnership team. Before the Bank, Lucy worked with UNICEF, the World Food Programme, Save the Children, and the international Food Policy Research Institute. She is a member of the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies Early Childhood Development Task Team, ECDAN Knowledge Fellows Steering Committee, Research Forum on Early Childhood in Emergencies Steering Committee, and expert review panel for Lego’s Build a World of Play challenge. In addition to her expertise in global early childhood research and practice, Lucy brings experience as a preK teacher.
