Luis Eduardo Castellanos is a Short-Term Temporary Economist in the World Bank's Poverty and Equity Global Practice Group and an incoming Junior Professional Associate for the 2025 cohort. Luis has worked as a researcher, research assistant, and consultant for esteemed institutions such as Colombia’s Central Bank, Colombia’s Ministry of Finance, Yale University, Berkeley University, and the World Bank.
At the World Bank, he has supported the development of reports on poverty and inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean, built statistics on informality, and conducted literature reviews on climate change and natural disasters.
Luis is passionate about addressing poverty and inequality through data-driven analysis and is interested in its intersection with AI and education.
Luis holds an honors degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and is a candidate for a Master's in Economics and Public Policy from Universidad de los Andes.
