Luiza is the Regional Citizen Engagment Coordinator for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA). She is also working on gender and gender-based violence, and managing community driven development (CDD) projects in Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan. Previously, Luiza was in the South Asia region where she worked on CDD operations in Afghanistan, served as the SAR CE Regional Coordinator and worked extensively on Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) Standard 10 with focus on Stakeholder Engagement Plans and GRMs. Prior to that, she worked on demand for good governance and gender programs in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. In her global roles, Luiza worked on social accountability programs in Africa and East Asia and served as a Special Assistant to the Vice President of the World Bank Institute. Prior to joining the Bank in 2003, Luiza worked for an NGO on medial development in the Balkans. Luiza holds an M.A. in Political Science, University of Bologna, and a B.A. in Business Administration from University of South Carolina.
