Political scientist

Luize Guimaraes is a political scientist, specialized in social policy, gender, economic empowerment and health systems. She has worked for the private sector, civil society and Financial Institutions. For Oxford Policy Management (OPM), Luiz has led and implemented various projects in gender, social protection, health and education in the global south. Luize is now the OPM director in Mozambique and from the start of the program, in 2015, has been MUVA Programme Manager. Previously, she worked at l’Agence française de Developpement (AFD) in Cambodia as the health program officer where she co-founded the first country SWAP (Sector Wide Approach). Guimaraes holds an MA in International Affairs and International Development from Sciences-Po and a master’s in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
