Maho Hatayama is an Economist in the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice at the World Bank, where her work focuses on jobs/labor and firms. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) (University of Sussex) in the U.K., the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Liberia, and spent a few years working in Mozambique for Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Maho holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is pursuing a Ph.D. degree at the University of Maryland.
