Maira Reimao is a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California - Davis as well as a consultant in the World Bank's Social, Urban, Rural and Resilience Global Practice. Her research interests center on gender, development, and public economics, and her dissertation looks into the effect of access to daycare on asset accumulation. Prior to her Ph.D. studies, she worked in the Latin America & Caribbean Poverty and Gender unit at the World Bank.
