Malala Wakunuma is a consultant in the Eastern and Southern Africa Region of the World Bank’s Water Global Practice. She joined the World Bank in November 2019 and has provided technical and analytical support to the water supply, sanitation and water resources management portfolio of Zambia and regional Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries. As a Water and Sanitation Specialist, Malala is currently part of the team working on the Lusaka Sanitation Project, the Surface Water Storage for Climate Resilience, the Kariba Dam Rehabilitation Project, and the Water Supply and Sanitation Services in Growth Centers: Program for Results (PForR). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the Copperbelt University, and is pursuing a Master’s degree in water resources engineering at the University of Zambia.
