Manuel García-Santana is a Senior Economist in the Macroeconomics and Growth Unit of the Development Research Group. His research focuses on the macroeconomic aspects of development and trade. His research on these topics has been published in journals such as Econometrica, American Economic Review, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Financial Economics, the International Economic Review, and the Journal of the European Economic Association. He is an associate editor of the Journal of International Economics and the Journal of the Spanish Economic Association. Before joining the World Bank, Manuel was an Associate Professor at Pompeu Fabra University and a Kenen Fellow at Princeton University, International Economics Section.
