Marcus S. D. Williams joined the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) in 2004 as Adviser to the Executive Vice President. MIGA is the political risk insurance arm of the World Bank Group.
A member of the senior management team, Williams is responsible for advising the Executive Vice President on the agency's strategy and operational activities. Prior to his current position, Williams worked as a Senior Business Development Officer at the World Bank Institute's Global Development Learning Network Division, where he managed the unit responsible for supporting over 60 independent distance learning centers operating on a commercial basis. From 2000-2003, Williams worked in MIGA as a Senior Marketing Specialist, responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing global outreach efforts and business development activities. From 1996 to 2000, he worked in the Corporate Strategy Group of the World Bank, collaborating with senior management on the Bank Group's long-term strategy and business agenda and focusing on enhancing the Bank's capacity to meet client needs through strategic new product development and innovation.
Williams holds a master’s of business administration in finance and marketing from the University of North Carolina and a bachelor’s from Swarthmore College.
