Maria Eugenia Oviedo is an Extended-Term Consultant with the Education Global Practice at the World Bank, where she works on the design and monitoring of education operations in Liberia. Additionally, she has produced global research and technical tools on education, with a focus on early-grade literacy instruction and strategies for post-pandemic learning recovery and acceleration. Prior to the Bank, she was a researcher with the Inter-American Dialogue, where she wrote on secondary and post-secondary education in Latin America and the Caribbean, and helped coordinate civil society-led advocacy efforts. Maria Eugenia has a BA from the University of Notre Dame and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.
